Quite a northern Italian way to end a meal. Grappa is a distillate of grape must (all of the bits and bobs left over when the grapes are crushed to make wine). It's pure spirit, so powerfully boozy, but should also speak of whichever grape it's made from. This fine example starts life as Barolo, so the Nebbiolo grape, and is aged for 12 years in oak barrels. This softens the spirit and imparts a range of flavours from the wood, from rich spices to tobacco and just a touch of sweetness. Exquisite, round and long, this is a drop to kick back with and treat yourself. Serve neat at room temperature.
